Job Summary The Assistant Vice President of Arch National Accounts Casualty (NAC) is responsible for the technical underwriting and account management of loss sensitive casualty programs; this includes working with retail brokers to attract and retain these accounts.
Job Responsibilities
Underwrite, maintain, and grow a profitable book of primary and excess casualty insurance business
Evaluate and prioritize submissions, analyze exposures and coverage requests
Determine pricing and negotiate our program offering, manage all post bind activities
Negotiate and place facultative reinsurance
Manage portfolio metrics
Develop and maintain relationships with retail brokers
Drive pipeline with assigned brokers
Create strategy on target accounts
Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing insureds through frequent engagement and annual stewardship
Prepare and deliver presentations virtually and in person (when possible)
Collaborate with internal team members to deliver excellent service to brokers and clients
Skills
Well-developed active listening, problem solving mindset and interpersonal skills for developing and strengthening broker and client relationships
Excellent analytic, communications skills, business writing, and oral presentation skills
Understanding and knowledge of exposure identification and analysis
Well-developed business acumen to understand performance metrics, develop and implement profitable growth strategy
Strong organizational skills to successfully manage multiple submissions and insureds
Ability to influence, capable of working independently and interdependently
Sound technology capabilities in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work in a team environment to support others for growth and development
Independent thinker with a forward-thinking vision
Education and Experience
College degree preferred
At least eight (8) plus years of related experience
Additional industry-specific study or designations (such as CPCU and ARM) are a plus
