And we foster a supportive, people-first work environment."We know the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don't hesitate to apply - we'd love to hear from you."Key Skills and Abilities Include:Must be familiar with all laws and regulations governing pesticide applicationMust possess or obtain a commercial driver's license with endorsements for Haz-Mat and Tank vehiclesMust comprehend basic measurements and calculations for calibration (gallons per acre, and acres per tank)Must have a working knowledge of all application equipmentAble to work with minimum supervisionAccurately locate application siteMust possess or obtain the Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attend all required safety training meetingsMust complete bi-annual medical examsMust participate in a DOT random selection for drug and alcohol testingMust be able to work odd hours during peak season (6-7 days, 10-14 hours, depending upon crew assignment may be day or night)Ability to travel to other branches, meeting locations or customer farmsKey Personal Attributes Include:Clean DMV recordPersonable mannerisms with growers and fellow employeesStrong time management skills with the ability to set prioritiesMaintain positive communication with supervisor and growerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to remain detail-oriented with a wide range of responsibilitiesSpecific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Proper application of fertilizer and plant protection productsProcess work orders against scheduled dates and timeComply with all applicable laws and regulations at all timesFollow all Wilbur-Ellis Company safety rulesLift containers weighing up to 80 lbsCoordinate the use of the equipment and make sure that it is returned in good working conditionPerform a pre-trip inspection before leaving the yardArrive at the correct job site without undue delayProperly complete necessary paperwork (application records, shipping papers, driver daily report, and all info on work orders)Properly handle and store all chemical containersEnsure that equipment is repaired or serviced in order to avoid delays in equipment availabilityParticipate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduledPerform necessary maintenance and repair on equipmentAssist as needed around the plantAnd Pay and Benefits?In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $21.44 -$26.83 per hour. Compensation includes competitive hourly wage, extra pay on overtime, and a spray acre bonus for applicating. Wages and bonuses may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for vacation and sick time, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
