Job Description
The Investment Risk Data Analyst position is part of the State Street Global Advisors Investment Risk Team. The primary focus of this group is to provide independent oversight to ensure appropriate levels of risk exist across our client’s portfolios. The analyst will take on a leadership role in managing projects involving risk processes, analyzing large collections of data, and creating reports to visualize results. This role will have a specific emphasis on equities for the SSGA funds and accounts, and will be expected to provide expertise in the areas of data management, quality, and stewardship to support the broader risk management quantification process. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilitating change as it relates to maturing data management and optimizing workflows across complex enterprises.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a solid analytical foundation and organizational skills, be motivated by a team environment, and have the ability to learn about new analytical applications and investment products.
The candidate should possess excellent analytical and communication skills, as he or she will establish close working relationships with other teams across the enterprise.
The position also requires a strong understanding of financial markets, especially equity valuations, pricing, and risk analytics.
The successful candidate will have experience working with large datasets, preferably in the areas of fund management operations, accounting, or security master/data teams would be helpful. Tableau, SQL, and R preferred. Knowledge of risk models from Axioma/Barra as well as vendor applications like Factset/BarraOne/Bloomberg is a plus.
Other key qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience. MBA, FRM, and/or CFA preferred.
3-5 years of relevant industry experience with solid working knowledge of financial assets via prior experience in investment management, operations, and/or analytical systems.
Strong technical skills: ability to manage workflows and reporting for risk management and to leverage technology and systems. Thoroughness and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Capable of taking responsibility for independent projects with limited supervision.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work with all levels of personnel across the organization.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
