The 360 Group is pleased to announce our latest search: Managing Director for Climate Advocacy Lab!

The Climate Advocacy Lab, a collaborative of the nation’s leading climate change funders, including the Skoll, Hewlett and McKnight foundations, helps climate and clean energy advocates run smarter public engagement campaigns. Specifically, “The Lab” uses rigorous social science and data analysis to help advocates build a permanent, activated majority in favor of positive climate policy in the United States. Previously incubated at the Skoll Global Threats Fund, the Climate Advocacy Lab arms climate and clean energy advocates with information and best practices to run smart, effective public engagement campaigns. Launched in 2015, The Lab has quickly grown to be a network of more than 2,000 advocates, campaign organizers, social scientists, data experts, and funders, developing and sharing best practices for what works -- and what doesn’t -- for engaging and mobilizing Americans on climate and clean energy.

The Climate Advocacy Lab seeks a new Managing Director to lead the organization’s efforts. The Managing Director will be responsible for helping refine the vision and strategy for The Lab, map resources to goals, ensure The Lab’s capacity responds to demand in the sector, and build The Lab’s long-term sustainability. The Managing Director, working closely with a senior deputy, will oversee an existing team of six employees who’ve built The Lab to its current level. The Managing Director will be the key interlocutor with members of the emerging funder collaborative supporting The Lab and will lead efforts to refine a governance structure that reflects key stakeholder interests. Though several years old, The Lab remains very much in start-up mode, and seeks a Managing Director to help take it to the next level. Finally, the new Managing Director will embrace a network approach that is open and transparent, recognizes the importance and power of relationships, embraces principles of diversity, equity and inclusion, and believes in sharing credit for results.
