Job Overview:

We are recruiting an Associate Attorney for a prominent law firm's Investment Services team, with opportunities in both Chicago and Washington, DC. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary corporate practice. The successful candidate will handle corporate and securities law matters, particularly focusing on investment services for registered investment companies, investment advisers, and private funds. The role supports career development and includes direct client interaction and business development opportunities.Duties:

Advise clients on corporate and securities law matters, including federal securities laws such as the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933.Handle regulatory and compliance matters related to registered investment companies, investment advisers, and private funds.Manage multiple transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions involving investment companies.Collaborate with shareholders and senior attorneys on client-facing activities.Participate in business development initiatives and client relationship management.Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to corporate and investment services matters.Requirements:

1-4 years of corporate or securities law experience in a law firm setting.Strong knowledge of federal securities laws, particularly the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933.Experience with registered investment companies, investment advisers, and private funds.Transactional or mergers & acquisition experience involving investment companies (preferred).Proven ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Strong academic credentials.Certifications:

Admission (in good standing) to the Illinois Bar or District of Columbia Bar (or taking steps to become admitted in one of these jurisdictions).Skills:

Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Team-oriented and collaborative approach to work.High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
