Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, with a solid understanding of site reliability engineering principles. This role will be pivotal in building and supporting containerized applications, with a future focus on Azure cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage OpenShift and Kubernetes environments with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to integrate applications and infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Develop and maintain containerized applications, ensuring high reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Support the transition of on-premises applications to cloud environments, particularly Azure.
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect containerized applications and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
  • Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability, performance, and capacity.
  • Automate operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Support on-prem and cloud

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with site reliability engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Azure.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
