TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27103 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15) Guaranteed Hours: Information not provided Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; accepts first-time travelers. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications required. Must-Have: - Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Telemetry, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias - Use of Rapid Response Teams - IV insulin protocols - Blood Product Administration - Central line and peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Heparin Protocols - CVA, chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac - External CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula - Non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management - Isolation precautions Job Description: - Work in a unit that runs more like an ICU. - Strong experience with drips is essential. - No block scheduling permitted. - Target nurse-to-patient ratio: 3:1 or 4:1. - Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. - Responsible for post rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, and various post-op surgeries. - Patient age range includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric. - Handle special equipment such as bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup, A-lines, BIPAP's, chest tubes, and tracheostomies. - Required to float as needed to a sister unit with an ICCU. - Must pass EKG testing prior to start. - Hospital orientation in the first week; attendance required each day. - Flu vaccine is required unless exemption is granted for medical/religious reasons. - Float to other units based on skill sets and patient census. - Blue or white scrubs, or a combination, must be worn. - Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred. 25947292EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Change environments regularly to prevent burnout, maintaining enthusiasm and passion for your nursing career.
