- # Beds: 32- Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients- Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, charge RN's have ACLS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients hem/onc, chemo- Experience or 'Must have' skills: level 1 trauma experience required. experience at a larger facilitywith a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes, hem/oncand chemo experience preferred- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can bestarted and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3south only- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brandare the tele monitors?: every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, centralmonitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nursesstation and every patient is on tele- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?: Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Both. Nursemanagers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adulthouse sup. charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. educatorand manager for each unit. Smaller units share manager and eduacator.- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: all units- RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.): cpap bipap at night, RT to help, highflow on 2n,- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a,travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accomodate block scheduling asscheudle allows, open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is notrequired- Weekend Requirement: every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meetneeds of department- Holiday Requirement: rotate in with regular staff- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: no- Floating Requirements?: within skillset, all staff float between all medsurg units. higher acuitypatients would be given to core staff- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: any color, needs to be solid color and professional- Unit/Department specific orientation: first day, all paperwork and attestations, logins for Omniceland Epic, show around unit (a few hours), discuss scheduling. 2 additional shifts with preceptorTact Medical Staffing Job ID #486453.
