Position Summary:
The College of Business at Florida Atlantic University seeks applications for an open rank tenure track faculty, who will also serve as the Director of the Health Administration program (housed in the Management Programs Department) starting in Fall 2025.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates would be expected to maintain an active program of high-quality research; a commitment to rigorous and engaging teaching of healthcare management courses at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels; and the ability to participate in appropriate types of service to the program, department, college, university, community, and profession.
The Director of Health Administration program reports to the Department Chair of Management Programs and participates in executive collaboration with the Deans, the Chairs, and other Program Directors in the College. The Director’s responsibilities include:
Teaching (1-1-1 load) in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
Ensuring that the program is run professionally, responsibly, and effectively; and support faculty, staff, and students so they can perform to their highest potential.
Planning course schedules and staffing for the program.
Coordinating with the Department Chair and Executive programs staff to oversee admission and staffing of the Health Administration Executive programs.
Representing the program and university to external constituencies and engaging with businesses and the community to develop effective partnerships that benefit the program, faculty, and students.
Recruiting participants for the program Advisory Council and conducting meetings.
Leading student recruitment and retention efforts, promoting the program to potential students, and engaging alumni.
Promoting tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty excellence through assisting the Department Chair with recruitment, supervision, mentoring, and development
Assisting the Department Chair with evaluation of merit for promotion and tenure.
Leading program strategic planning and the periodic program review.
Participating in service to the university and stakeholder communities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidates are required to have earned a doctorate in Healthcare Management or a related field from an accredited (AACSB or similar) university by the effective date of employment.
• Candidates should be strongly committed to high-quality scholarly research.
• Candidates should have demonstrated a record of excellence in teaching at an accredited (AACSB or similar) university.
• Candidates should have demonstrated a record of excellence in leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will also have:
• Experience and interest in research and/or teaching in healthcare systems, health information technology, professions, and related areas.
• Certification or experience teaching in fully online or hybrid delivery platforms.
