The team’s primary emphasis lies in crafting software tools integrating and automating Ansys’ commercial simulation software tools to meet specific customer requirements for design, engineering, and operations in the aerospace and defense market. As part of this team, you will be primarily responsible for front-end technologies, contributing to the design, development and deployment of our solutions. You will also have opportunities to contribute to back-end development. You will collaborate closely with our project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions that empower engineers, analysts, and operators in extracting maximum insights from their simulations. This role will be in support of ongoing work to provide the United States Space Force with modern space simulation, analysis and operations software.This is a full-stack engineer opportunity with a focus on front-end development. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.RESPONSIBILITIESLeads planning, architecture, and development at a project level.Coordinates project design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design, solution deployment and integration.Acts as a technical reference within a group or project.Develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring.Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple projects.May work with strategic customers or partners to assess needs and develop solutions.Operates without direct supervision and may function as a team leader, project manager, or software architect.May be responsible for line management of a small technical team but primary duties are of an individual technical nature.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years’ experience, MS with 6 years’ experience, or PhD with 4 years’ experience.Experience with web 3D technologies (e.g. WebGL, Three.js, Cesium JS).Familiarity with the W3C Web Components specifications and best practices for building interoperable and reusable components.Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code.Experience with version control systems and Agile development methodologies.DoD TS/SCI Clearances (or the ability and willingness to obtain them).Preferred Qualifications and SkillsKnowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).Proficiency with C++, C#, Java, SQL, Python, Node.js.Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure).Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a U.S Government or defense contractor environment.Experience developing software integrations with mission engineering tools (Ansys STK, AFSIM, etc…) or Ansys software tools.Familiarity with space systems operations.Ability to translate business or mission needs into development plans.Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers.Active DoD TS/SCI Clearances.Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
