Sinclair Digital's Cloud Computing team is utilizing a new program to integrate fresh talent with diverse experience, into an exceptional cloud computing powerhouse, from the ground up. Our digital portfolio combines websites, mobile apps, over-the-top (OTT) apps, and our content publishing platform into a seamless user experience. Our Cloud Computing team is looking for a highly organized candidate to join the team as an Associate Development Engineer. This candidate will have a verifiable history of critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. The purpose of this position is to build on previous professional and educational experience for integration into the Sinclair Media paradigm and specialize in the development of Cloud Computing technologies. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in interpersonal communication, as well as have a desire and willingness for collaboration. This would be a temporary position, with a potential to move to full time.

Responsibilities:

Immerse yourself in a diverse technology ecosystem at Sinclair Digital, gaining hands-on experience with client, server, and cloud technologies.Learn by building out new cloud services using CI/CD and IAC development paradigms.Develop a complete understanding of our CMS (Storyline) and backend systems.Innovate by designing and building proof-of-concepts (POCs) to discover and implement cutting-edge content delivery methods.Be a strong team player while collaborating with other team members across the org.Be ready to discuss and present your ideas to others, taking critical feedback and improving and iterating on design.Follow best practices and patterns, while continuing to explore new and emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Science with a Full Stack Web Development certificate, or equivalent practical experience.6 months experience in application and/or web development.Experience working in several languages and tools including JavaScript, Java, Express, Node.js, MySQL, MongoDB, Mongoose, Python, ReactJS, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS.Minimum of 2 years' experience in applying professional leadership and instruction in a highly technical field of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Conceptual understanding of Docker Containers, Linux Namespaces, Microservices, Kubernetes Clusters, Terraform, serverless / event-driven architecture.

The base salary for this role is $75,000 to $90,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
