In personBASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:

The International Student Programming Coordinator provides immigration and cultural assistance in support of international student immigration compliance, retention, and graduation. The International Student Programming Coordinator ensures Student and Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS) compliance and implements student programs and workshops that promote the success and retention of international students, adhering to best practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate international student programs and workshops that promote the success and retention of international students in collaboration with university partners, including social, cultural, mentorship, and leadership development programs. Host or assist with division events including International Student Orientation and Campus Week activities.Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) with SEVIS, advising and assisting international students on F-1 & J-1 visa regulations and benefits, while maintaining SEVIS compliance.Monitor compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies to support student success, providing reports as needed.Provide student assistance, including mentoring, personal support (individual and group).Develop and implement an international student first term experience.Assist with the development and implementation of the international student communication plan and international student websites.Counsel and refer international students to university resources.Assist with the I-20 & DS-2019 process, communication, and support services for admitted and continuing international students.Advise students and university departments, present options, and recommend solutions related to immigration status issues.Serve as a primary international student advocate/resource for international students.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:Education requirement:

Required: Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.

Years of experience:

Required: One to three years related experience and/or training; preferred with international student services.Preferred: One or more years of experience as Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).

Knowledge of:

Required: Familiarity with F-1 and J-1 federal immigration regulations.Preferred: Student services experience in a university setting.

Direct job-related requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident per Federal regulations.
