Starting Rate: $170,000-$190,000 based on education and experience.

Statement of Purpose:

The Senior Director, Culture and Talent provides vision, leadership, planning, project coordination, and financial management oversight of employee relations and recruitment activity. Meets current and future operational needs of the HR staff efficiently and effectively. Provides fair and consistent policy/program interpretation and current practice recommendations. Areas of responsibility include talent acquisition, disciplinary action and terminations, EAP referrals, and grievance procedures. Advises Talent Acquisition Manager and HR Business Partners on human resources policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions consistent with CAN’s strategic direction.

Essential Functions:

Leads the Talent Acquisition Manager and HR Business Partners in defining and executing strategy for workforce planning.

Directs the development of staffing strategies and workforce planning. Develops and builds hiring processes for a variety of levels, inclusive of new hires, temporary and contract staffing, and executive searches.

Leads sourcing and recruiting initiatives and processes to leverage networking and employee referrals.

Oversees the development, modification, and execution of company human resources policies that affect immediate and sometimes long-term operations and may have a companywide effect.

Ensures consistency with strategic goals when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Oversees investigations, regulatory requirement standards, and audits of human resource activities.

Oversees investigations relating to employee relations; works jointly with HR Business Partners and legal counsel in preparing mediation/conciliation or defense of cases.

Develops plans and programs to withstand discrimination charges from all protected groups and makes progress toward ultimate objectives. Design and deliver training on Sexual Harassment, Discipline, EEO/Affirmative Action guidelines and other Human Resources compliance topics.

Manages the coordination of Human Resources regulatory agency responsibilities. Ensure compliance and preparation for visits.

Conducts audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Maintains operational procedures to ensure effective leadership and oversight of the Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners Teams.

Builds and maintains a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning.

Develops and implements changes for the improvement of workflow in the areas of employee/labor relations and recruitment.

Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to Talent Acquisition Manager, HR Business Partners, and/or subordinates to achieve strategic and tactical goals.

Provides fair and consistent policy/program interpretation and current practice recommendations.

Consults with members of the management team to provide advice, recommendations, and/or options regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment laws.

Assists on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of company processes, policies, and business needs.

Maintains extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance regulations and requirements.

Establishes and ensures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, business development experience highly preferred. Experience in a Health Care setting preferred.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.

Have a broad understanding of human resources issues, policies, and systems in order to provide leadership to the HR Business Partners team and the human resources department overall.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and sense of urgency and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

Demonstrated leadership and management abilities including proactive partnering in a complex organization.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 lbs.

Must pass a drug screening and Level II background check including fingerprinting and a comprehensive review of criminal history.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, audio visual, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This position may require additional time above normal operating hours and on occasion weekend work.

Travel:

Travel is primarily during the business day, although periodic out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
