This position is open to all interested persons 19 years of age and older who have a Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement. This position works up to 20 hours per week. This position is designated as At-Will. Essential Functions Provides transportation for youth ages 6-12 to and from outdoor programs, playcamp locations, and other recreation activities as assigned. Ensures the safety of all passengers while being transported. Adheres to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times. Performs basic safety inspection of the vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate. Performs routine cleaning inside the vehicle. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training + Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement with two years bus driving experience + Working knowledge of bus safety practices; relevant rules and regulations related to a Class B CDL. Ability to: + safely operate bus with children and staff aboard; + navigate to various areas of the City; + display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public, and other organizations; + communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; + complete assignments in a timely fashion; + understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations; + maintain prompt and regular attendance; and + perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor, and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
