IV League is one of Southern California's most recognized home infusion companies. We work with prominent hospitals, physicians, oncology clinics, M.S. clinics, and surgery centers, providing I.V. and specialty medications for patients in the home or office settings. We currently have an intern pharmacist position open in our Culver City office.As an Intern Pharmacist at IV League, you will gain hands-on experience and training in all aspects of pharmacy operations. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in the dispensing and compounding of medications, provide patient counseling, and participate in other pharmacy activities as required. This position offers the opportunity to learn about various areas of pharmacy practice, including clinical and specialty areas.If you are a motivated and dedicated pharmacy student or graduate looking to gain valuable experience and make a positive impact on patient care, we encourage you to apply for the Intern Pharmacist position at IV League.Key Responsibilities:Upholds IV League's Policies and Procedures and applicable state, federal and local laws.Assist in the preparation, dispensing, and labeling of prescriptions according to legal and ethical standards.Verifies, interprets, and reviews prescription medication orders for appropriateness, accuracy, and completeness, with special consideration given to patients with specific disease states and special age groups being served.Assess patient at the initiation of drug therapy, develop a patient care plan and drug-specific monitoring regimen; monitor the patient according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy.Provide patient counseling on medication usage, possible side effects, and proper storage.Communicate with the patient, physician, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other members of the health care team regarding patient status, response to therapy and clinical objectives to ensure that clinical outcomes are met.Support the maintenance of pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking medications and supplies.Participate in the preparation and compounding of sterile pharmaceutical preparations.Help maintain accurate patient records and prescription data in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.Support medication therapy management services under the guidance of the supervising pharmacist.Performs drug conversions and calculations.Assemble supplies and arrange for proper delivery or pickup of home infusion medications and supplies.Exhibits proper use, handling and compounding of both sterile and hazardous medications.Ensure compliance with all FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.Attend and participate in educational programs, training, and staff meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.Qualifications:Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited pharmacy program.Open, active, and in good standing California State Intern Pharmacist License.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.Physical Requirements:Possible prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Possible prolonged periods of standing and bending in Cleanroom.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Work Schedule:Monday - Sunday (rotating hours as assigned by Pharmacy Manager).We understand the importance of balancing work with your academic commitments.
