Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Development Consultant experienced in baked goods to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading company's product development and innovation in the baked goods sector. The successful candidate will work closely with our Research and Development team to develop new products and improve existing ones, focusing on baked goods like bread, pastries, cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes, crackers, empanadas, and biscuits.

This would be a long term consultancy project

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the 3rd party manufacturing partners to develop new baked goods and improve existing products.
  2. Conduct thorough market research to understand current trends and consumer preferences in the baked goods sector.
  3. Develop and test various recipes and prototypes, considering factors such as taste, nutritional content, cost, and production feasibility.
  4. Coordinate with production teams to scale up production of new products from the lab to the manufacturing line.
  5. Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards.
  6. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to launch new products, ensuring they align with brand values and market expectations.
  7. Conduct regular reviews of competitor products and stay updated on the latest food technology and food science advancements.
  8. Work on projects related to frozen baked goods, dough, batter, and other related products.
  9. Travel as needed to manufacturing partners across the United States and Canada.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development in the food manufacturing industry, specifically in baked goods.
  3. Extensive knowledge of baking science and technology, including ingredients, processes, and equipment.
  4. Proven experience in developing and launching new baked goods in the market.
  5. Excellent understanding of food manufacturing processes, including scaling up production from lab to line.
  6. Strong knowledge of food safety and quality assurance standards.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, marketing, and sales.
  8. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  10. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  11. Demonstrated ability to keep up with the latest trends and advancements in the food manufacturing industry.
