Runwise is looking for a Junior / Staff Accountant to join one of the US's largest and fastest-growing energy tech companies. Runwise has offices in New York and Boston but is a remote-first product/engineering company, and has been since its creation.

As a Junior / Staff Accountant at Runwise, you'll join a high-performing and growing finance and accounting team, and be directly responsible for the execution and improvement of our accounts payable and general accounting functions. We're seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized professional with a talent for problem-solving and a flair for crafting innovative solutions. You'll work closely with our Controller to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial record-keeping and collaborate cross-functionally with our Sales, Operations, Onboarding, and Customer Success partners to execute and improve various processes and initiatives.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Accounts PayableOversee and manage the full accounts payable cycle, including the receipt, review, coding, and data entry of vendor invoices.Ensure that all invoices are properly approved in line with company policies and authorization procedures.Ensure accurate coding of expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts.Manage the timely processing of payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers.Own relationships with high-volume and complex install partners, maintaining internal trackers, and resolving discrepancies and inquiries promptly.Daily Bank Ledger MaintenanceRecord and maintain all daily outgoing transactions, including payments, transfers, and bank charges, ensuring accurate and up-to-date entries in the general ledger.Monitor and record daily deposits, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the bank ledger and applied to the appropriate accounts.Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts related to deposit applications ensuring an up-to-date ledger is maintained.Vendor Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding payment status, invoice discrepancies, and payment terms.Maintain positive relationships with vendors by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving payment issues or disputes.Address vendor concerns related to invoice submission, ensuring that payments are processed in a timely manner and in line with vendor agreements.Monthly Close ResponsibilitiesSupport the accounting team in executing month-end close activities, including but not limited to:Bank & Credit Card ReconciliationsAssisting in the monthly physical inventory count and cost of goods sold inventory reconciliation.Allocation of monthly depreciation and prepaid expensesIdentify AP-related process and system inefficiencies and develop new systems and processes to address issues and improve team performance.Assist in the execution of various other accounting operations including credit card expense management, employee expense reimbursement, etc.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field2+ years of hands-on accounting and accounts payable experienceDirect experience within a software business strongly preferredExpert proficiency with accounting software and robust ERP systemsDirect experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred1+ year of public accounting experience preferredStrong fundamental understanding of accounting principlesExceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and resourcefulWillingness to dig in, investigate issues, and experiment with creative solutionsSalary Range: $65,000- $75,000 based on experience
