Quality Assurance ManagerBoston, MADirect HireQUAILITY ASSURANCE MANAGERSUMMARYThe Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership, direction and management of the company's overall Quality Assurance and Food Safety program. They're responsible for ensuring our seafood processing facilities operate in compliance with government food safety regulations and company standard operation procedures. Ultimately, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for building, maintaining and improving quality control into a products life cycle in order to ensure we manufacture a safe product.The Quality Assurance Manager acts as a subject matter expert in Quality and Food Safety for all our production facilities. They proactively focus on defect prevention by progressively refining manufacturing processes, policies and procedures, ultimately delivering continuous improvements vital to maintaining company's ability to own and operate our processing facilities.Quality Control is maintained through established processes and monitored by onsite Quality Control Managers who report into the Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager ensures all employees are trained on a continuous basis on the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and oversees sanitation protocols in all facilities.This position will report to our QA Director in Boston.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage quality assurance functions to ensure compliance with all product and process quality standards including formulations, specifications, approved methods, procedures, practices and systems to guarantee product qualityMaintain all QC process planning, checklists, and system operations auditsDevelop policies, procedures and training programs to ensure consistent quality from raw material to finished productQA technical resource for company initiatives, developing solutions that will drive the company's goals and objectivesInvolvement in new hire process; ensuring implementation of Safety and Sanitation trainingOrganize and conduct additional employee training as necessary to ensure product safety and qualityWork with Sanitation team to ensure program complianceDevelop Quality Control, Sanitation and Food Safety personnel in their job functionsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or Chemistry5+ years of food manufacturing experience; seafood industry a plusProven leader in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast paced environmentAble to manage priorities and complexities, strong multitasking skillsAbility to understand and improve performance, efficiency and product yieldStrong supervisory, interpersonal, training, and communication skillsKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety regulationsUnderstand OSHA/FDA/USDA requirements in a seafood manufacturing environmentIntermediate computer skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookStrong written and verbal communication skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to lift 30-50 poundsWork up to a 10-hour workday: standing/walking most of the dayHand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingWork requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reachingExposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicalsExposure to temperatures:Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
