Maintenance Technician

Job title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Columbia Station, OH
Shift: 1 st or 2 nd (6 am to 3:30 pm)(2pm to midnight)
Salary: $20 and up based on experience/shift

Job duties:

• Perform preventative, routine and urgent maintenance repair on machinery
• Minor mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on the following machines: headers, conveyors, roll thread machine, part washers, air compressors, vibratory feed systems and other machinery as required. F-09-01, Rev. 10/4/17
• Set up and removal of machine related tooling & fixturing used to complete repairs on machinery. This may include climbing, lifting, pulling and the use of a ladder.
• Performs the following operations safely: welding, cutting, brazing, grinding, drilling, and tapping and general use of small hand tools.
• Minor electrical troubleshooting (i.e., fuse changes, continuity checks...)
• Understands our Environmental Policy, our significant environmental aspects, their contribution to our Environmental Management System and the implications of not conforming to the Environmental Management System.
• Tow motor duties as needed
• Performs minor mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs to building as required and identifies major repairs needed.
• Properly use and maintain gages. Understands our Quality Policy, our relevant quality objectives, their contribution to the effectiveness of our Quality Management System and the implications of not conforming to our Quality Management System.
• Documents any minor maintenance performed in PLEX.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
• Follows ISO9001/IATF16949 procedures relative to maintenance.
• Grounds & building maintenance including lawn cutting, trimming, racking, shoveling, dissing removal of weeds etc.
• Light janitorial: re-stock, clean & maintain common areas of the facility, including restrooms.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years’ experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Safety training including training in the importance of machine guarding and safety equipment.
• Knowledge of the lock out/tag out procedure.
• Knowledge of plant and environmental safety concepts.
• Supports Seaway’s emphasis of the team concept.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to pass a preemployment screening
