We are currently seeking a casual

Pharmacist

to join our Poison Center Pharmacy team. This position is casual, no benefits, rotating shifts and weekends.Purpose of this position:

Responsible for providing immediate medical treatment recommendations for poisonings and overdoses to public and health care professional callers. Acts as an information resource regarding drugrelated questions. Teaches toxicology concepts to health care professional audiences. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the poison center. Supports the values of the organization by demonstrating personal responsibility, respect for self and others, innovation through teamwork, dedication to caring, and excellence in customer service.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides immediate medical assessment, treatment and follow-up advice to the general public and health care providers regarding poisoning exposures via telephoneProvides drug information to public and professional callersResearches and provides answers to questions relevant to clinical toxicology and drug informationAccurately records medical case information utilizing computerized data collection softwareSupervises and provides consultation to Poison Information ProvidersActs consistently with all Poison Center policies, procedures and clinical guidelines and refers all calls outside the scope of their positionParticipates in case review and quality assurance activitiesProvides public and professional education to all audiencesProvides clinical instruction and supervision to pharmacy students, medical residents and toxicology fellows. May precept PharmD student rotationsParticipates in the training of new pharmacists and poison information providersSuccessfully completes the American Association of Poison Control's Specialist in Poison Information certification exam when eligibleOther duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from college with a degree in Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications:Graduation from college with a degree in PharmacyMinimum of one to three years' experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospitalCertified Specialist in Poison Information certification from the American Association of Poison Control Centers

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, verbal and writtenMust be a self-starter, able to work under pressure and be flexible in setting prioritiesAbility to do accurate, detailed analysis of complex information and issues is essentialExtremely strong customer service orientationAbility to effectively interact with team members and other departmentsAbility to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and work schedules to meet customer service standards

License/Certifications:Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota
