POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direction from peers and manager, this position is responsible for completing the various Credit Underwriting training courses/exercises to gain hands-on experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, customer relationship strategies, detailed industry research, financial spreading, short term extensions, and various special projects. The Credit Analyst I will participate in training sessions (both provided internally and externally) on credit analysis, risk management, industry assessments, and various financial tools. This is an entry level position that will assist the various Commercial Credit Underwriting teams (both CRE and C&I) with annual reviews, financial spreading, and small renewals or modifications that assists with any overflow of the entire department. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Credit Administration team, including data research and entry, and special projects and initiatives, as warranted. The expectation is for this individual to have a foundation built to grow in experience and the ability to exercise independent judgment within established Underwriting Guidelines and Credit Policy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the various training classes and opportunities to learn about the Bank's Credit Culture and Risk Management approach.Prepare and spread business financial statements and cash flows, in addition to personal financial statements and cash flow for personal guarantors.Shadow and train with peers and management to enhance overall commercial credit skillsPrepare small loan approvals, annual reviews and conduct and credit analysis for new requests, in addition to modifications and short term extension of existing loans.Conduct third party research, inclusive of industry reports, personal credit reports, real estate analysis with market assessments, etc.Shadow and train with peers and management to enhance overall commercial credit skillsCandidates must successfully complete the Pathways Program, an in-depth training program for 18-24 months that educates participants on Credit Lending Technical Skills.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in with a preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting or Economics.0 - 3 years in banking, finance, or accounting.Basic understanding of the financial world.Good grasp of accounting.Computer skills.Strong verbal and written communicative and analytical skills.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels usually are moderate.
Prolonged sittingLifting from 5 to 10 lbs. (printer paper, storage boxes)Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting.
