Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and testing electrical circuits to support new product development and improve existing products within an energy storage product line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and take ownership of technical requirements provided by customers.
  • Develop an electrical architecture to fulfill technical needs while considering budget, recurring cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Perform detailed design and analysis for new circuits or circuit variants, including schematic design for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) related to power supplies, battery chargers, and battery management systems.
  • Contribute actively to the product qualification process, ensuring new products meet customer requirements and industry standards, including DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461.
  • Create sub-assembly and top-level acceptance test procedures (ATPs).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges with existing products and new designs.
  • Conduct prototype and qualification unit testing activities.
  • Participate in software development, verification, testing, and documentation processes as per DO-178 (preferred but not required).
  • Simulation tools such as Matlab or PSPICE can be used to model design concepts.
  • Generate engineering documentation, including Test Plans and Test Reports.
  • Support system-level integration and testing of hardware and software.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • 7 years of experience in the electrical design of PCB (Printed Circuit Boards)
  • BSEE (required) or MSEE (preferred).
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Knowledge of PWM control for AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM, DAQ, etc.) for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with C/C and assembly language for embedded systems (preferred but not required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Adherence to engineering design policies and ability to recommend or lead process improvements.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity.
