Job Description:
The Electronics Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of assembly and wiring operations at various levels of assemblies, working from engineering drawings, schematics and/or wiring diagrams. Examples of assemblies include electrical and microwave circuits, Electro-optical and mechanical systems.
Essential Duties:Utilize Assembly Instructions, drawings, blueprints and/or schematics to perform bench builds of various wire assemblies.Utilize various type cables, harnesses, printed circuit cards (PTH & SMT) and chassis wiring.Use various types of potting and epoxy compounds, wiring on or near optics and other assigned work.Perform a variety of functions including clamping, checking clearances, crimping, wire dressing, soldering and mechanical assembly of components.Maintain appropriate production records.Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations.Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and perform assembly of components.Reading and interpreting assembly instructions, engineering drawings, blue prints, wiring diagrams and schematics.Perform a variety of harness and cable assembly installations.Ablity to sit or stand for up to 10 hours at a time.Must be able to lift 30-50lbs with assistance.PPE must be wore in designated work areas. (ESD Lab coats, ESD safety shoes, and safety glasses)IPC 620 and J Standard Certs.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of prior Electronic assembly experience preferably in the aerospace, defense, or medical industry.2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of prior Electronic assembly experience preferably in the aerospace, defense, or medical industry.One (1) or more years of familiarity with solder processes and Resistor (IPC) color code.Must be able to obtain a IPC 620 and J Standard Certificate.Must be a US Citizen.
