PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a Transporter - Patient Transport for a Part Time, 0.8 FTE, Evening position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $18.02 - $26.39. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position will be scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1 pm-9:30 pm.This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, supplies, specimens and equipment through the facility.Essential FunctionsTransport patients by schedule and on request utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment.Transport materials such as supplies, specimens, records, linen, trash, confidential documents and equipment.May be responsible for conference room set-up including equipment and patient care equipment transfers.May clean wheeled transport equipment as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredExperienceEntry level position. Prior patient care experience preferred Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs SkillsGood customer service skills. (Required) Good interpersonal skills. (Required) Basic computer skills. (Required) Department / Location Specific NotesSouthwest Medical Center:BLS required upon hireMay be required to function as coordinator to facilitate patient transports.Working ConditionsLiftingPatient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment (i.e. stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.).Frequent reaching/ grasping.Occasional bending/ stooping.Push/Pull: Frequently up to 25 lbs. force.
