We are seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to bear on a wide range of complex mechanical engineering challenges. The ideal candidate is an innovative, detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and a proven track record in industrial inspection equipment design. You will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your skills and creativity will be valued and rewarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of large industrial inspection equipment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Develop comprehensive system designs, incorporating 3D modeling and detailed engineering analysis.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create accurate, efficient models and designs.
  • Adhere to machine shop best practices to ensure the safe and effective production of components.
  • Apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize the manufacturability of products.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure the compatibility and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Design aluminum structural components and sheet metal parts, ensuring structural integrity and durability.
  • Apply knowledge of fluid dynamics to design systems involving fluid flow, heat transfer, and other related phenomena.
  • Design pneumatic systems and components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop drivetrain systems, taking into account factors such as torque, speed, power, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with other members of the engineering team, contributing to collaborative problem-solving and innovation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on the design of industrial inspection equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and SolidWorks.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine shop best practices.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Expertise in the design of aluminum structural components and sheet metal parts.
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics and its application in the design of fluid systems.
  • Experience in pneumatic system design.
  • Knowledge of drivetrain systems and related principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
