Job Details

SUMMARY:

As our Quality Manager you will lead all aspects of Quality Assurance in full compliance with the FAA, AS9100 and key customer standards. You will define, implement and direct processes and personnel to ensure the delivery of products that are recognized and valued in the industry for their quality over the intended product lifecycle. You will work daily with manufacturing to schedule, optimize and control inspection activities and to enforce requirements as specified by customer, engineering documentation and regulatory agencies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops structure and drives completion of goals and objectives for the Quality Assurance group.

  • Establishes and monitors individual and group performance against priorities, objectives and budget.
  • Responsible for salary administration and performance appraisals.
  • Coordinates all audits by customers and regulatory agencies, including any gap analysis with regard to customer/industry specification changes. The scope includes both the FAA Part 21 manufacturing facility and the FAA Part 145 repair station.
  • Continuously drives the quality creation/accountability to the operations source through training, implementation of meaningful metrics and efficient processes.
  • Implements systems to collect, analyze, report and act upon key quality metrics. Focuses quality resources on areas quantified to need support, while minimizing unnecessary expense to processes that are proven to be in control.
  • Actively monitors and mitigates risk using structured and verifiable means that provide evidence of issue closure
  • Leads the improvement of existing/development of new policies and procedures to maximize productivity while ensuring ongoing compliance with AS9100, customer requirements and regulatory agencies.
  • Develops training, conducts classes and participates in related meetings to provide general quality systems training.
  • Provides weekly communications of quality systems status and metrics. Conducts routine formal AS9100 Management Reviews of the quality system with Senior Management.
  • Establishes procedures for and coordinates First Article Inspection per AS9102.
  • Establishes procedures for and coordinates inspector/test stamp holder certification. Ensures that inspection stamp holders receive frequent reviews and updates regarding quality policies.
  • Coordinates equipment calibration processes and ensures sustained effectiveness.
  • Supports engineering during new product development to ensure product realization is performed in alignment with established procedures.
  • Establishes procedures for and coordinates the control and processing of nonconforming material.
  • Supervises the administration of the Material Review Board.
  • Manages a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors.
  • Provides support for new supplier qualification and performance monitoring. Conducts or oversees audits of key suppliers.
  • Drives completion of internal audits and formal corrective and preventive actions. Responds directly

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five or more years’ experience in Quality Assurance in regulated manufacturing environment
  • Two years’ experience in a Supervisory role
  • Electronics and/or mechanical aerospace industry experience
  • Strong PC skills, including Adobe, MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Requirements and documentation
  • Familiar with blueprints & GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 Standards
