We are on the hunt for a dynamic and skilled Permanent Civil Engineer to join our innovative team. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and who is passionate about design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. As a Permanent Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, such as roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbors, dams, irrigation projects, power plants, and water and sewerage systems.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Analyzing long-range plans, survey reports, maps, and other data to plan and design projects.
  2. Considering construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning and risk-analysis stages of a project.
  3. Compiling and submitting permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies, verifying that projects comply with various regulations.
  4. Overseeing and analyzing the results of soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations.
  5. Analyzing the results of tests on building materials, such as concrete, wood, asphalt, or steel, for use in particular projects.
  6. Preparing cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility.
  7. Using design software to plan and design transportation systems, hydraulic systems, and structures in line with industry and government standards.
  8. Performing or overseeing surveying operations to establish building locations, site layouts, or other design information.
  9. Ensuring the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety.
  10. Assessing the environmental impact and risks connected to projects.
  11. Managing, directing, and monitoring progress during each phase of a project.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A post-graduate degree will be an added advantage.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer.
  3. A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  4. Proficient in design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
  5. Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc.
  6. Project management and supervision skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability.
  9. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  10. Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  11. Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
  12. Ability to work in a team and lead a project.
