Position: Tax Principal / Tax Partner - Partnerships and Real Estate Tax

Salary: $300,000 - $400,000/year

Location: Remote (Preference for local candidates in Encino, CA 91436)

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Principal or Tax Partner with extensive experience in partnership tax matters and complex multi-state filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, specifically with Partnerships and Real Estate Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review accounting workpapers and complex tax returns, including partnership, trust, estate, and foundations.
  • Work closely with partners and team members to develop innovative tax solutions for clients.
  • Directly manage client groups, including handling multiple entities (up to 100+).
  • Provide tax planning and work on special projects that require analysis and creative problem-solving.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of multi-state tax policies, as well as federal and state tax compliance.
  • Handle federal and state tax audits as needed.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and changes in tax laws.
  • Provide support for Section 754 elections, 1031 exchanges (backward and forward), cost segregation studies, and other complex tax matters.
  • Other tax-related projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active CPA license.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in public accounting, preferably with a mid-to-large sized local firm.
  • Extensive experience with partnership tax including capital account maintenance under 704(b) regulations, 1031 exchanges, 754 elections, Section 163(j), and 199A.
  • Multi-state tax experience required; international tax experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with software such as Lacerte, QuickBooks, and CCH Engagement.
  • Strong attention to detail, with demonstrated stability in career progression.
