We are currently seeking a highly qualified Trust and Estate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to apply their skills in a rewarding and challenging environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal counsel and support on a broad range of trust and estate matters. With a focus on high net worth individuals, the role includes managing conservatorships, probate administration, and tax planning. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
As a Trust and Estate Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing sophisticated tax planning and estate administration services to high net worth individuals and families.
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents related to estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Advising clients on tax implications related to estate planning and wealth transfer, including gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax.
- Representing clients in probate court proceedings, conservatorships, and trust litigations.
- Collaborating with financial advisors, accountants, and other attorneys to develop comprehensive estate plans.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax and trust laws to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Trust and Estate Attorney position should possess the following qualifications:
- A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- An LLM in Tax is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on high net worth individuals.
- Extensive knowledge of probate administration, conservatorships, and tax planning.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
- A high level of discretion and confidentiality for handling sensitive information.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
