Our firm is seeking a seasoned Personal Injury Attorney (Defense) to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of personal injury cases. The successful candidate will have a strong background in personal injury, liability, and litigation, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

As a Personal Injury Attorney (Defense), your responsibilities will include:

  1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue against plaintiffs.
  2. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  3. Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  4. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  5. Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
  6. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  7. Negotiating settlements of civil disputes.
  8. Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal briefs and memoranda, and to determine how it could impact client cases.
  9. Performing administrative functions as needed related to the practice of law.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Personal Injury Attorney (Defense) position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admission to the state bar.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney, specifically in defense.
  4. Extensive knowledge of personal injury law, liability law, and litigation.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interface at all levels of the business and with clients.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  9. Strong negotiation skills.
  10. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
