Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on governmental accounting and corporate finance. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively. The Senior Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
  • Ensure accurate recording of debits and credits in compliance with established accounting principals.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Maintain accounting software systems such as Sage X3 to streamline processes.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
  • Assist with audit and regulatory demands, prepare month end closing Journal entries. Assist in timely closing the month end.

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage X3 is essential
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, accounts payable, and cash management principals.
  • Excellent financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex financial data effectively.
  • Solid technical accounting skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • GAAP
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently when required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to meet deadlines timely and accurately.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required

Master's Degree preferred

5+ years' experience

Public accounting experience
