Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Permanent Senior Tax Manager. This position will play a crucial role in our finance department, managing all tax-related activities of the organization. This includes overseeing tax planning, ensuring tax compliance, and managing tax provisions. The Senior Tax Manager will also be responsible for preparing and filing multi-state income and property tax returns and annual reports. In addition, the role involves liaising with federal and state auditors and ensuring timely income tax payments. This position requires a high level of expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all corporate tax planning and compliance tasks to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Prepare and file multi-state income tax and property tax returns accurately and timely.
- Manage tax provisions and maintain the organization's tax balance sheet.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Conduct tax research and planning, interpret tax laws and regulations, and keep abreast of changes in tax laws.
- Liaise with federal and state auditors; manage all aspects of federal and state audits.
- Prepare and submit annual reports, ensuring they comply with tax laws and regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate income tax payments.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the tax department staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide tax advisory services and resolve tax-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager role or a similar capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Proven experience with sales tax, use tax, multi-state income tax returns, tax compliance, tax provision, property tax returns, property tax, annual reports, federal audit, and state audit.
- Proficient in income tax payments and income tax compliance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
