Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to contribute to our company's financial success by ensuring our financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, with a proven track record in inventory management, cash flow analysis, auditing, and cost accounting. The Construction Accountant will play a crucial role in financial decision-making and operations as the company continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
  7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  10. Additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting.
  4. Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  5. Strong understanding of construction industry and its financial aspects.
  6. Proven experience in managing inventory, cash flow, and auditing.
  7. Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and manage monthly inventories.
  8. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  9. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  10. Able to analyze financial records and transfer information.
  11. Self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with little to no supervision.
  12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  13. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
  14. Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
  15. Attention to detail and accuracy of data.
