We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster and Painter. Experience is preferred but we will train the right person.

This is a full-time Anchorage based position with no travel with room for growth.

Job Duties

Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.

Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.

Masks and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated.

Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.

Mixes paint according to specifications.

Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.

Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.

Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.

Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested.

Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.

Keeps work area clean.

Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.

Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.

Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

Other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

Regular and reliable attendance.

Be on time and ready to work with proper PPE.

Operating high-pressure hoses to blast away layers of paint from surfaces.

Inspecting blasting operations to ensure safety regulations are met.

Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure the best operation of all machines and tools.

Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED

Proven experience as a Parts counter person.

Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills.

Ability to independently research issues, make decisions and solve problems.

Ability to complete multiple projects within time constraints.

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment.

Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Must be able to pass a drug test.

Benefits:

Pay starting at $25 depending on experience

Fulltime, year-round permanent position

Anchorage position with no travel

Weekends off:

7 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday Schedule
