We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role is a key player in maintaining our commitment to safety and ensuring the well-being of our team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all health and safety programs in our industrial manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. The Health and Safety Coordinator will also play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain and manage all safety documentation through our Document Control systems.
  • Train employees on health and safety procedures, including food safety, ingredient handling, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with management to implement corrective actions for identified safety issues.
  • Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track and report on safety-related incidents and actions.
  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), SQF (Safe Quality Food), and other food safety standards.
  • Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety and health by ensuring clear communication, awareness, and understanding of all safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with CMMS, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), Document Control, Food Safety, and Ingredient handling.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and other food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential safety hazards and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
