SENIOR MANAGER, GLOBAL CORPORATE ACTIONS

The Role

The Corporate Actions Senior Manager is responsible for people and process management associated with researching, soliciting, processing and instructing on all dividend and corporate action events. The role will interact with many groups within the Fidelity organization and effectively represent the business to customers and business partners.The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 6-8 years of financial services experience with an asset manager or custodian bank, preferably in mutual fund operations with exposure to Corporate Actions
  • 4+ years of experience in Corporate Actions and/or Mutual Fund Accounting
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor s Degree encouraged, but not required
  • Innovative looks for new ways to improve current processes and develops creative solutions
  • Sharp judgment and proven ability to logically identify, isolate and resolve problems
  • Ability to lead independently and in a team environment under very critical deadlines
  • Solid understanding of project and relationship management
  • Ability to make decisions with limited/minimal oversight or guidance
  • Working knowledge of downstream impacts, workflows and requirements of internal and external business partners and systems applications\u00A0
  • In-depth understanding of the workings of the corporate actions, custody, accounting and the investment operations industry
  • Detailed knowledge of corporate action event processing including fund manager solicitation, accounting, tax implications, regulatory conditions, financial impact of transactions, trading implications, global and domestic processing standards and overall life of a corporate action event
  • Strong Knowledge of all product types including but not limited to Stocks, Bonds, Options, Warrants, Rights through public and private deals
  • Detailed knowledge of securities and monetary transactions with associated financial services industry systems, standards, and regulatory conditions
  • Ability to recognize high risk items and call out those items or seek assistance to minimize loss to either the shareholder and/or Fidelity
  • Provide functional and technical area expertise, oversight, problem resolution, training, analysis and reporting as needed across a variety of group responsibilities
  • Lead projects in the development of technology solutions and represents the department on projects lead by business partners
  • Identify areas of risk and work to mitigate them
  • Conduct hiring, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, corrective action, terminations and other status changes of staffing
  • Provide strategic vision and long-range tactical plans to ensure culture of continuous operational improvement
  • Works with FFIO Tax, Institutional and Retail Accounting to determine tax and accounting treatment of highly sophisticated corporate actions
  • Handle critical issues from all lines of Asset Management including FMR, FIC, FMTC, SAI, FIAM and Geode as well as External Managers
  • Work closely with peers in Fund Accounting and Pricing to ensure urgent Corporate Actions related issues are resolved timely

The Team

This team is responsible for all aspects of corporate action research and processing for assets across the approximately $2 trillion worth of assets under management, including actions cumulatively affecting securities worth in excess of $1 billion at a given time.\u00A0 The Global Middle Office acts as a servicing center for FMR Co.'s trading desks globally, facilitating the confirmation and settlement of security and currency transactions with brokers and custodian banks, and providing daily cash estimates to Trading. It is also responsible for coordinating corporate action executions, ensuring the collection of income to the Funds, resolving position differences and facilitating securities lending activities.
