Job Description

This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations and availability of communications systems and applications.

Essential Functions

This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment.

1. Prioritize designated helpdesk tickets & resolve in a timely manner.

2. Provide infrastructure support for including but not limited to: Printers, Point of Sale systems, credit card terminals, UPS devices, digital signage, IP surveillance, door access systems, and IoT devices.3. Assist with IT projects, operations, and support within the Enterprise Systems and Infrastructure team on systems including but not limited to: Aruba Switches, Aruba APs, Windows/Linux Servers, File Server Permissions, Active-Directory.4. Support, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and document enterprise applications, server, and network infrastructure operations.5. Monitor and troubleshoot issues and respond to outages with applications, network, and server infrastructure.6. Assist with IT Infrastructure upgrades and security patches.7. Project management skills / ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities.8. Leverage a best practices approach towards projects, implementations, issues resolution, and change management.9. Coordinate and communicate all downtime and production impacting activities with the various stakeholders and respective ITS staff.10. Perform other duties as assigned by executive level ITS staff, and assist in maintaining an efficient and effective Information Technology Services operation.

Work Environment

The Infrastructure Support Technician will work with other ITS and University parties as needed to support, maintain, and enhance University IT Systems. On-call responsibilities are a component of this position.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Lifting, proper use of ladders, as well as using hand & power tools are to be expected.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time 12-month position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected. A valid US Driver's license with a safe driving record is required.

Required Education and Experience1. High school diploma.2. 2+ Years of IT experience, including experience troubleshooting network connectivity, hardware/software issues in an Enterprise environment.

Preferred Education and Experience1. Associates Degree in a technology related field.2. MCP, CompTIA A+, Network+ Certifications.3. Experience with IP Cameras and NVRs3. Experience with Active-Directory, Windows Server4. Ability and willingness to stay current with new technologies.5. Ability to alter planned activities in order to accommodate new or changed situations.
