The
Market Development
team, part of the broader Strategy department, is a highly analytical and strategy group that focuses on identifying, understanding and developing business opportunities for RWECE in the US market. This team prioritizes markets, generating in-depth actionable market demand / supply analyses, assessing market fundamentals and policy drivers. and developing actionable competitor analyses. Moreover, the Market Development group, identifies and assesse new opportunities in adjacent business areas. This group provides ongoing market intelligence through reports and continuous monitoring, distilling key inshigts for the strategic direction of RWECE.
Responsibilities:Lead comprehensive and actionable market demand/supply analyses, assessing market fundamentals and policy driversDevelop actionable competitor analyses to guide business activities (e.g., offtake RfP bids) and strategic initiativesLead the prioritization and analysis of target markets at the state/ISO/offtaker level, identifying key dynamics/challenges and developing winning strategiesIdentify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities (e.g. in areas like transmission, offtake, development, ...)Provide ongoing market intelligence, distilling key insights and implications for strategic planningBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, regulators, and internal teamsPrepare and present key recommendations to senior managementDevelop and mentor more junior colleagues within the Business Strategy team, fostering a high-performing cultureQualifications:
Master's or advanced degree in STEM, business, or other relevant fields, preferredMinimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in market analysis, business development or strategy roles the US power sector, through consulting or relevant industry rolesStrong knowledge of the US power market fundamentals, the utility industry and commercialization of renewable energy projects. Deep specialization in one or more ISOs, highly preferredStrong quantitative modelling abilitiesExcellent problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities and business acumenExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior stakeholdersStrong organization and project management skillsStrives for quality and excellence, while being pragmaticSolution-oriented. Productively challenges the status quo, and develops new ideasMotivated self-starter, reliable, collaborative, team-oriented, adaptable, high-integrity, self-reflective, able to learn and act on feedbackProficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point). Programmig skills are a plusThis position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locationsMust be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
