Summary

AC Transit is currently seeking candidates for the position of Statistical Data and Information Analyst. Under general supervision, this position, collects, maintains, synthesizes, and analyzes data from numerous sources; initiates studies; presents results to a wide variety of audiences; and acts as a resource to other departments for the development of methodologies and statistically valid reports.

Collects, maintains, analyzes, and assists in the interpretation of service and performance data from a wide variety of internal District databases and software systems, as well as external sources.Conducts research; and designs and develops technical studies involving operational, performance, or financial data and information, in cooperation with various District departments.Designs and develops research designs and methodologies, data collection instruments, protocols for coding and tabulation, and reporting standards to ensure the accurate collection, analysis, and interpretation of data.Designs, develops, and presents reports and presentations that include narrative written analysis, statistical summaries, tables, and other graphic representations of data.Maintains, tests, and verifies the integrity of data by identifying and resolving problems with data files and software interfaces.Provides consulting services to other District departments; and consults with external organizations to gather data and information, and to provide data analysis and interpretation.Travels locally to other District facilities, and may supervise or perform field studies within the AC Transit District.May supervise and/or provide work direction to District personnel conducting surveys, or otherwise engaged in the collection and tabulation of data.Provides data, information, and analysis for the development of District policies, procedures, and standards.Provides analysis and interpretation of non-statistical information.Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Marketing Research, Economics, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Social Sciences, or a similar field that included extensive coursework in statistical analysis.

Experience : Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the statistical analysis and interpretation of data and information; including verifiable experience with databases, as well as the reporting and presentation of data to a wide variety of audiences.

Special Requirement

:

Must be willing to: (1) work outside regular business hours as required by implementation of special projects, and emergencies; and (2) travel between the various District facilities as required.

Desirable Skills:

Previous experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Analyst or Data AnalystPrevious experience with coding, R Python, GIS, data modeling, SPSS, or similar coding processesPrevious experience with SQL, Database Environments, pulling data, creating BI Dashboards, and telling the business story using data-driven insightsPrevious experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or other Open Source tools

Physical Requirements:

(1) Must maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting operating a personal computer, keyboards, and other peripheral equipment. (2) Must maintain the mobility necessary to perform fieldwork at locations within the AC Transit District.

Pension:

All AC Transit employees participate in a lifetime defined benefit pension. All employees hired on or after January 1, 2020, may be in the District's Tier II pension plan covered by the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA). As such, he/she may be required to contribute a small portion of annual income towards the cost of his/hers District pension.

PEPRA:
