Our 24/7 Auburn, Maine manufacturing site is seeking Forklift Drivers to join the Logistics Department supporting critical business needs.

Forklift Drivers

are vital to the success of our business at P&G. The Logistics Department maintains production across the site by safely moving critical materials within the facility, replenishing automation systems, and ensuring materials and product meet P&G's quality expectations. You will enable on-time shipments that our customers and consumers expect from P&G.

To be successful in this role, individuals must seek out opportunities to learn multiple functions within their department and support their team by flowing to various tasks throughout the shift. We hire you at entry level and you advance by demonstrating growing levels of operating, maintenance, and leadership skills. Successful employees will break down technical barriers to success, obtain technical proficiency, and ultimately enable material and production efficiency. P&G'ers are curious, not afraid to challenge the status quo, and ultimately a team player.

We also provide you with the opportunity to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas of functional expertise. Although you will begin your career and progress within Logistics department, future business needs will determine whether you remain in Logistics or have the opportunity to transfer to another operating department within the site, where you will gain additional training and skills.

Work Schedule:You will work a rotating 2-2-3, days and nights, 12 hour shift schedule. This includes weekends. Work on weekends may be as overtime or as part of the technician's normal schedule.Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule.Technicians are expected to be willing to rotate and work any shift. Additional days could be required to be worked as overtime.Meaningful work on Day 1We do various types of work, including operating forklifts and reach trucks, running high-speed converting and packing equipment, controlling the process from a computer terminal, receiving raw and packing materials to support production, loading outbound finished product shipments for customers, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications

You must be 18 years of age or olderHave a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent educationWilling to work rotating shiftsAble to pass a DOT physical / Motor vehicle operator evaluationInterest in operating / working around material handling equipment (Note - previous experience operating powered industrial forklifts and reach trucks is preferred, but not required)We believe in order to be able to perform on the job, you will need to meet the following physical requirements:

Able to sit/stand on material handling equipment continuously for extended periods of timeCan climb in and out of forklift frequentlyAble to rotate upper body and look over the shoulder frequentlyCan reach above shoulder heightMust have no neck/upper back conditions that would prevent upper body rotationCan display sense of orientation and coordination while driving backwardsAble to work in tight/congested area and able to enter confined spacesAble to climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platformsAble to Bend/Squat, turn, and twist frequentlyCan use basic hand and power toolsAble to lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; Lift and carry up to 40 poundsBe able to walk varying distances to travel between multiple warehouses located throughout the facilityWear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, safety shoes, high visibility vest, hat with visor, gloves)Able to work with loud noise (>85db) while wearing ear protection

Average Starting Pay: $65,000

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At P&G compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at P&G include hourly pay + benefits.
