DescriptionSecond Shift: 2:30 PM-10:30 PMA Forklift Driver / Material Handler is responsible for operating material handling equipment (forklift) to receive, store and distribute material, parts and supplies, using wireless RF scanning equipment to direct disposition of materials.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment (forklift) to maneuver racks, containers, pallets and crates Move, locate, relocate, load, unload and stack material in assigned area Perform routine daily equipment inspections and escalate issues Gather finished orders for movement to outbound shipping area Ensure product is labeled and free of damages, overages and shortages Accurately complete all related paperwork Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company Observe and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines Ensure that materials loaded to be transported are properly stacked and secure Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc. Perform all other duties as assigned Regular and reliable attendance at workCompetencies Attention to detail Communication proficiency Technical capacity Teamwork orientation Decision making Results driven High safety regardWork EnvironmentThis job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a busy warehouse environment OSHA-endorsed forklift certification or ability to become certified Must be 18 years old or olderAdditional Eligibility Qualifications Prior work experience in a warehouse and/or a Just-in-Time (JIT) environment preferred Basic computer skills and experience with a warehouse management system are a plusKnowledge of safety practicesPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkFull Time.
