The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role involves handling inventory, ensuring timely supply of materials to production lines, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving and Unloading: Receive and unload incoming materials and verify their quantities and conditions against purchase ordersStorage: Properly store materials in designated locations, ensuring they are easily accessible and organizedInventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular cycle counts, and report any discrepanciesMaterial Handling: Transport materials to and from production lines, workstations, storage areas, and loading docks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucksOrder Fulfillment: Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment based on work orders or shipping instructionsQuality Control: Inspect materials for defects or damages and report any issues to the supervisorDocumentation: Complete necessary documentation for receiving, shipping, and inventory transactionsSafety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Operate equipment safely and responsiblyHousekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials and debrisCollaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations and timely material flowQUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferredStrong organizational and time management skillsAttention to detail and accuracyBasic computer skills for inventory management systemsAbility to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification may be required)Good communication and teamwork skillsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
