3rd Shift- Material Handler

Job Summary:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, or work site by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
•Opens containers.
•Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
•Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
•Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
•Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
•Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to quality control for analysis.
•Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
•Operates forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
•Follows direction of shift lead to do other related projects to support the molding floor staff.
Requirements
Education:
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift Certification Required.
Other Skills:
•Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
•To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
•Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.
