Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is hiring a Staff Guidance Navigation and Controls Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals in Melbourne, Florida. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.Responsibilities may includeLead the Guidance, Navigation, and Control system engineering requirement maturationLead the integration of autopilot and autothrottle capabilities into the Vehicle Management SystemLead subsystem level certification activitiesBasic QualificationsBachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 10 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of fixed-wing aircraft dynamicsKnowledge of fly-by-wire control systemsExperience in system engineering requirement definition, verification, and validationExperience analyzing non-linear simulations of aircraft closed-loop responsesExperience creating certification test procedures and test casesWorking knowledge of autopilot and autothrottle capabilities into Vehicle Management SystemsWorking knowledge of Flight Management Systems, including RNAVExperience using MATLAB to create, process, analyze, and visually represent data.Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.Experience using Model Based System Engineering toolsFamiliarity with programming (C/C++, Python)Preferred QualificationsExperience developing and integrating autopilot and autothrottle capabilities into Vehicle Management SystemsExperience with Flight Management Systems, including RNAVExperience using CAMEO to create system requirement modelsExperience using System Composer to create software architectureExperience with MIL-STD-1797BExperience with AS94900 or MIL-STD-9490Experience with DO-178CExperience for Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)Salary Range:

$142,500 - $213,700The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
