Job Description

Performs a variety of activities necessary to provide live broadcasts/webcasts, TV studio production, online course sessions for faculty, design and maintain classroom instructional technology and multimedia support to end users to ensure proper and effective operations.

Working Environment

Occasional exposure to a variety of external environmental conditions; lifting/pulling/pushing electrical and/or electronic equipment up to 75 pounds; climbing ladders and/or walking/crawling in high and cramped locations including catwalks.Regular use of laptop/personal computers (keyboard, mouse, monitor) associated peripheral equipment (printer, scanner) and networks; professional television equipment (cameras, servers, audio and video switchers, encoders/multiplexers, transmitters.Works from general instructions/directions receiving managerial supervision of activities.Provides supervision of work activities of assigned staff to ensure achievement of objectives.Minimum Qualifications

Five years technical training in the operation, design or maintenance of broadcast audio with four (4) years experience operating broadcast systems for live TV including; audio consoles, IFB systems, video servers, studio comms and field equipment; OR, any Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Essential Duties

Director/Technical Director for live broadcasts/webcasts/recordings in event space (Global Forum), TV Studio, and external events i.e., ConvocationsProducer for events and recordings, which entails meeting with both internal and external clients to familiarize them with our AV capabilities, then perform all pre-production task i.e., coordinating webcast destinations, remote participants, media assets, and run-of-show. Plans, schedules, and coordinates specialized broadcast and/or communication services as requested and/or required.Video Engineer for designing new video switcher sessions, troubleshooting production issues whether it's software or hardware. Includes rack wiring/re-wiring, terminating all types of cables i.e., BNC, XLR, RJ45. Performing constant system checkups and assuring all audio/video signals meet broadcast standards. Managing NDI network equipment including switchers, cameras, computers, displays and NDI peripherals. Reviews, monitors, and evaluates technical standards and quality of in-studio and remote-use equipment; identifies and recommends replacement as needed to maintain service and quality standards. Works closely with users to determine feasibility of achieving proposed function or processes through use of video and/or audio systems; develops budget estimates in support of requests for proposals.Audiovisual Engineer troubleshoots, inspects, tests and/or repairs of lecterns, classroom control systems, projection, sound systems, conference/huddle rooms, Global Forum, collaborative conferencing i.e., Zoom, Teams, etc.AV Systems Design Engineer consults and research on the selection, purchase, installation, and integration of instructional and broadcast technology in new and renovated classrooms, team rooms, huddle and conference rooms, TV studio, and Global Forum. Prepares/maintains AutoCAD drawings for new and existing technology environments. Prepares RFP specifications using CSI standards including detailed scope-of-work, equipment specifications and performance criteria for competitive quotes from suppliers. Interfacing directly with manufacturers for latest developments in equipment and software, including negotiating special pricing and evaluations. Includes attending industry conferences, seminars, training and certifications.
