Altec is looking for a Product Design Engineers to join the Product Development team located in St. Joseph, MO! Our Product Design Engineers get hands-on with the product and are responsible for all aspects of the design and deployment of our product lines. They also work closely with our Manufacturing and Service teams on the ongoing maintenance and support of the designs.

Qualifications
Pursuing an ABET EAC certified degree in Engineering required A degree in one of the following majors preferred : Mechanical EngineeringAgricultural EngineeringAerospace Engineering
Completion of Degree prior to start date requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervisionMust be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flyingPrior interaction with Altec team at a recruitment event or previous intern/Coop experience with Altec highly preferred
Responsibilities
Use engineering methods and techniques to design or modify components and systems in order to meet technical objectives on timeAreas of emphasis: Machine DesignStructural Design and FEA3D ModelingHydraulic System Design
Analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problemsCreate unique, original product designs which may be patentableAnalyze new technologies for potential application in utility equipment Direct other engineers and technical support personnel to carry out specific design tasksAnalyze competitive product designs and report findingsImplement defect prevention procedures or processes in product design or applicationDevelop standards and procedures to improve the way we design and manufacture our productsProvide technical leadership for supervisors
