This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on sustainable energy initiatives where you will provide high-level electrical engineering support for an energy business in the US Gulf Coast. Your primary responsibility will be managing protective relay systems in large industrial power systems, focusing on design, operation, programming, and maintenance of protective relays, as well as metering systems for substations. In this job, youll help design and maintain systems the organization's electrical power systems from problems like power surges or outages. Youll create electrical plans, set up protective devices, troubleshoot issues, and make sure everything runs smoothly. Your work will focus on keeping large electrical systems safe and reliable at key industrial sites. Youll also work with other teams, analyze data after electrical issues, and ensure the power systems stay secure and efficient.

The position offers a collaborative environment where you will work alongside industry experts to drive innovation and progress in clean energy solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and Execution: You will be responsible for designing protective relay systems for medium and high-voltage substations, including creating diagrams, schematics, and control logic. Projects may involve both new and modified installations, often in live substation environments.
• Relay Settings and Programming: You'll develop and review relay protection settings, perform complex calculations, and implement communication protocols for relay systems.
• Electrical Modeling and System Studies: This includes developing electrical models and conducting system studies to ensure the proper protection and coordination of relay and substation control systems.
• Day-to-Day Operations and Troubleshooting: Youll be the go-to technical resource for the operational aspects of the protective relay systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and safety investigations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Willing to travel 20%
• TWIC card eligible

Preferred Skills:

• ETAP proficient
• Experience with PSS/E and Aspen Oneliner
