Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.The CNC Programmer works with machinery that cuts raw materials into functional items. They are responsible for interpreting blueprints, designing programs, and setting up machines to produce the components outlined in the program. The person will also be involved in maintaining, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Our work environment is fast-paced and professional while providing continued growth fostered by our commitment to teamwork.Key ResponsibilitiesFixture design and creationTooling selectionCreate setup sheets and work instructions to hand off programs to operators for production.Responsible for creating In Process Inspection Criteria (IPIC)Interfaces with setup Machinists and QualityKeeps track of current projects and those in queuePartners with manager on project prioritizationCollaborates with other programmers.Promotes a safe work environment.Maintain or improve legacy part quality standards and cycle times with process improvements in accordance with customer and company manufacturing standards, delivery commitments, internal procedures and protocols.Requirements5+ years of experience programming CNC Mills and LathesExperience with CNC Lathe, Mill Turn, and 3- and 5- axis milling machines.Proficient in Mastercam 2020Experience programming offlineLathe with live tooling experienceLathe with dual spindlesStrong verbal and written communication and organizational skillsProven cycle time reduction and program optimizationEnhanced ability to identify training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design and implement best machining practices.G-code familiarityFamiliarity with multiple types of material; emphasis: titanium, Inconel, and other exotic alloysThorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards as it applies to an aerospace and defense environment.Strong ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals driven by metrics.Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.Solutions focused.This job requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
