Day Shift Material Handler
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (SUMMARY)
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor the Material Handler is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, loading, and shipping merchandise or material; and receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
High school diploma or GED or earned within a designated period following date of hire.
Kind & Length of Experience:
Must have basic computer experience in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Must have a minimum of two years working in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
Must be able to stand for entirety of the 8-12-hour shift.
Experience using an ERP system preferred.
Experience operating a standup forklift preferred.
Experience utilizing an RF Scanner preferred.
Shipping and Receiving experience preferred.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
Pack, seal, or label to prepare materials for shipping.
Deliver or route materials to departments using forklifts and/or pallet jacks.
Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
Load/unload trucks in a safe, efficient manner.
Support efforts to implement and maintain the EHS&S management system.
Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules.
Maintaining a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements.
Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department.
Participate in required EHS&S training.
Work with outside carriers for loading and unloading of product, finished and raw.
Maintain traceability of all products, finished and raw, to help the Operations team maintain efficiency.
Perform Quality checks to inspect for integrity of materials.
Work cross-functionally with other departments such as Quality, Operations, Planning, etc.
Identify item, lot, and quantity and verify they all match BOL/manifest.
Inspect and identify any quality defects on incoming or outbound material.
Basic computer skills such as email, Microsoft office, etc.
Ability to flow from one task to another freely without contact supervision or direction.
Other duties as assigned.
