Summary/Objective
The Child Development Center exists to serve the families of faculty and staff of the Holton-Arms School. We operate during the school year and are closed during the summer. The part-time Child Care Aide works with the Director of the Child Development Center and other teachers to ensure the health and safety of all children in our care and to provide a happy, developmental experience for the children based on age appropriate activities and experiences.
Essential Functions

- Support the teachers of Holton Arms Child Development in planning and delivering lesson plans provided by Holton Arms Child Development Center
- Maintain a safe environment where children can play and learn
- Work as a team member to ensure the need all the needs of every child are met
- Thorough knowledge of Early Childhood Education and best practices in the field (preferred)
- Excellent verbal communication. Ability to build a relationship with children and families
- A desire to make a difference in the lives of children daily
- Strong Organization skills
- IPad experience preferred
This job operates in certified childcare program environment. This job regularly requires the incumbent to sit on the floor with children, dance and sing, change diapers and have fun with children.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, and hours of work and days are Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 - 5:00pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
At least 18 years of age
- First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain
- First Steps in Childcare Aide orientation training or willingness to obtain within first 6 months of employment
- Basic Health and Safety training or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
- 9 hours Communications course completion OR college coursework with passing grade or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- High School Diploma preferred
- Attending college or taking coursework in the Early Childhood education field (preferred)
- Meets the state criteria for being an aide (preferred)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a thorough background screening
